AFCEA International (the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) directly supports the community nationally through the AFCEA Educational Foundation and locally through the chapters with scholarships and awards to students with degree programs in the sciences.

The Alamo Chapter has awarded educational scholarships in excess of $350,000. The prime method of generating the money to support our scholarship program is through the annual symposium and exhibition, known as the Alamo ACE.

The Alamo chapter sponsors monthly luncheons and other networking events designed to promote the free and ethical exchange of information between the uniformed military services, government civilians and private industry -- with a particular focus on the cyber, medical IT, training and ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) career fields.

Through our Young AFCEANs group (ages 40 and under), the chapter also promotes mentoring and career growth opportunities for members in a variety of ways.

Alamo Young AFCEANS and
the Warrior and Family Support Center
Need You!

The Alamo Young AFCEANs provide year-round support for the Warrior and Family Support Center at Fort Sam Houston. Part of this effort entails an ongoing donation drive -- with collection bins coming to each of the monthly luncheons.

Warriors and their families often come to the center with very little. Every-day essentials can greatly improve the quality of their lives. Here are items you can donate to make a difference the lives of our San Antonio miltary families:

  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Diapers (newborn, size 1, size 2)
  • Baby wipes
  • Chips/individually wrapped snacks and candy
  • Coffee
  • Hot chocolate
  • Gift cards for Target or Wal-Mart
  • Movie gift cards
