AFCEA Alamo Chapter Privacy Policy
The Alamo Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) maintains this web site as a public service to both members and non-members. The following is the privacy policy for this site:
- We do not use "cookies" to collect information or personalize this web site, as many sites do.
- If you send us an electronic mail message with a question or comment that contains personally identifying information, or fill out a form that emails us this information, we will use your contact and other information only to respond to your request and analyze trends. We will not market the information we collect to other organizations or send you unsolicited email. From time to time, we may forward your message to another organization that is in a better position to answer your question.
- Generic information about your visit to this web site is collected for analysis and statistical purposes. This information is not reported or used in any manner that would reveal personally identifiable information, and it will not be released to any outside parties unless we are legally required to do so in connection with law enforcement investigations or other legal proceedings. This information includes information only about the computer that was used to access the site (IP address, type of browser software used) and basic information about your visit (which site you entered from, which pages on our site were viewed, and the date/time of this activity). No personal or contact information about the person using the computer is logged.
- We use log analysis software to analyze this information and create summary statistics that help us assess what information is of most interest, determine future design specifications, and identify problem areas.
- You do not need to receive advance permission to link to our web site, as long as it is a simple link that is not used to endorse, sponsor, or affiliate your web site. We ask that you always link to our home page using the following URL, since sub-pages are often reorganized: http://www.alamoafcea.org.
- We use secure socket layer (SSL) encryption to protect the transmission of information you submit to us when you use our secure online forms. All the information you provide us through these forms is stored securely offline. Email messages, however, are exchanged via clear text transmission, so there is always the minor risk that third parties could intercept information sent using this medium.
- We do not use www.alamoafcea.org to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 18.
