Chief Master Sergeant James “Dan” Farmer is the Superintendent for the 690th Cyberspace Operations Group, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. In this capacity, he oversees the Air Force Cyber Security and Control System weapon system providing network operations & management functions. He advises the commander on training, utilization and force structure for 1,550 assigned personnel at 10 global locations while overseeing on-board and sustainment of new cyber technologies into the Air Force Information Network. He also advises on the integration of cyber and threat deterrence assets into existing weapon systems required to accomplish national cyber operations in support of full spectrum execution/employment of air, space, and cyberspace operations for 24th Air Force and national mission partners.

Chief Farmer entered the Air Force in September 1989. He graduated from the Satellite Communications Operator and Maintainer Course at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. His background includes duties in both fixed and deployable communications units. Additionally, Chief Farmer graduated from the First Sergeant Academy in February 2006 and served as a First Sergeant. His deployment experience includes locations in Grand Cayman Island, Jamaica, Kuwait, Morocco, Turkey, Afghanistan, Greece, and Saudi Arabia. read more...
