Lieutenant Colonel John A. Priestly III

Lieutenant Colonel John A. Priestly III photoLieutenant Colonel John A. Priestly III is the Program Manager and Materiel Leader for the Unified Platform Program and the Director of the LevelUP Code Works software factory located in San Antonio, TX. The Unified Platform is the central node of the Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture that supports offensive and defensive cyber operations for the Department of Defense. LevelUP Code Works is the principal software factory delivering the Unified Platform and other cyber capabilities.

Lieutenant Colonel Priestly commissioned in May of 2005 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He began his active duty career at Lackland Air Force Base as a Network Defense Engineer and led the development and sustainment of the Air Force’s primary organic network defense capability. Later he was assigned to the National Reconnaissance Office, where he managed the Reconnaissance System Office next generation mission payload development program, and later transitioned to the Space Vehicle Division and led space vehicle integration, test, launch, and initialization. Lieutenant Colonel Priestly also served as a Program Manager at the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office, where he was responsible for all aspects of system development for multiple classified programs. Prior to taking on his current role, Lieutenant Colonel Priestly was the Chief, Advanced Programs Operations Division at Headquarters Sixteenth Air Force. There he was responsible for development, production, fielding, sustainment, and modernization of specialized Information War capabilities supporting U.S. Cyber Command and Special Operations Forces missions worldwide. read more...
