Salvador D’Itri, NSC Chairman

Salvador D’Itri is Chairman of the NSC and General Manager, Research and Development at Federated Wireless, Inc. He has served as Chief Marketing Officer and board member for the Wireless Innovation Forum and as an appointee to the Information Technology Advisory Commission for Arlington County, Virginia. His fields of experience include, spectrum management, cognitive radio, telecommunications and cloud computing.

The National Spectrum Consortium is a research and development organization that incubates new technologies to revolutionize the way in which spectrum is utilized, and 5G is playing a big part in that. Through collaboration between industry, academia, and Government agencies, we solve the toughest problems the nation faces to enable implementation of 5G, 5G based technologies, and spectrum access and sharing. NSC was kick-started through a 5 year, $1.25 Billion, Section 815 Prototype Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Emerging Capabilities and Prototyping (ODASD, EC&P). During this session, we'll provide an overview of the NSC, the importance of 5G to the national economy and security, past DoD/NSC efforts and future opportunities, including the DoD’s planned 5G experimentation at Joint Base San Antonio.
